OPA '07 CONFERENCE COVERAGE

Fueling the Future Now

Carburetion was the key word at the Ontario Propane Association’s eleventh annual conference, held June 13 in Guelph and attended by close to 170 people representing more than 100 companies.

First, Eric Latino and John Morand of Global Emissions Systems Inc. explained how their GESi™ technology can be used on propane-powered forklifts to eliminate up to 100% of engine emissions, thereby regaining market share lost to electricity, natural gas, etc. That’s fantastic carburetion.

Second, Dan Granger of SFI Engine Technologies spoke about his company’s Sequin™ technology, especially platform principles, system operations, performance and drivability, certifications and system installation, but he’s just as interested in talking about rejuvenating the auto propane market. That’s superior carburetion.

Third, Victor Fe of MaX-Quip said the Prins system has lots to offer, speaking about carburetion. “There are ways . . . to keep the skies forever blue and our cities true Canadian landmarks,” he explained. “LPG vehicles have gained worldwide recognition as an effective solution towards the reduction of greenhouse gases from mobile sources.”

Fourth, clean-burning propane forklifts and propane-powered vehicles were on display in the parking lot. And lots of people had the opportunity to see first-hand what leading edge carburetion can do.

Fifth, a panel discussion featuring Messrs. Latino, Morand, Granger and Fe as well as Don Burt of Hewitt Material Handling helped answers questions and concerns about different carburetion systems.
