COVER PAGE

The hamlet of Fort McMurray, at the confluence of the Athabasca and
Clearwater rivers, is at the heart of the oilsands industry (this year's Oil
Sands Trade Show and Conference takes place on September 21 & 22
at the Suncor Community Learning Centre). Located 435 kilometres
northeast of Edmonton, about 60 kilometres west of the Saskatchewan
border, Fort Mac is a diverse and multicultural community. Notable
McMurrayites are actors Natasha Henstridge and Tantoo Cardinal as
well as NHLers Chris Phillips, Scottie Upshall and Nolan Pratt.
